A fermented drink made using EM technology

EM-X Gold is made by EM Research Organization, the organisation behind Effective Microorganisms and EM technology.

Microorganisms are used during the controlled fermentation and ageing process. The drink is then filtered and pasteurised, so the finished product does not contain live microorganisms.

Its mild, almost neutral taste means it can be enjoyed on its own, mixed with hot or cold drinks, or added to everyday cooking.

The process

Fermentation, carefully controlled

EM-X Gold is produced through a managed food-manufacturing process, with each finished lot checked before it leaves the factory.

Fermentation and ageing

Selected microorganisms are cultured with the production ingredients during a controlled fermentation and ageing process.

Filtering and blending

The fermented liquid is filtered and blended before being pasteurised. Live microorganisms are not present in the finished drink.

Bottling and checks

It is bottled in Japan at a facility operating under the FSSC 22000 food-safety management system.
